As the signature event of this year’s University Research Week, four Creativity Hubs teams will present throughout the week, providing an overview of the significant challenges their teams are working to eradicate, progress to date, and goals for the future. Panelists will represent respective research areas and various career levels.

Be a Maker: BeAM Supports Research
BeAM@CAROLINA is a network of makerspaces where any UNC student, staff, or faculty member can join the UNC maker community in the design and creation of physical objects for education, research, entrepreneurship, and recreation. Makers can participate in open studios, training sessions, workshops, hosted classes, and group activities.
Pilot funding helps team develop model to capture COVID-19 spread
A TraCS COVID pilot awarded in June 2020 is producing results. A multidisciplinary team from North Carolina State University, UNC-Chapel Hill, Georgia Institute of Technology, and East Carolina University has developed a simple model to illustrate COVID-19 spread within a hypothetical school over the course of a semester, given different assumptions regarding mask usage, incoming protection, and testing policies.
