A team of BME researchers applied their skills in design and engineering to create low-cost, emergency solutions to personal protective equipment shortages early in the pandemic. Dr. Devin Hubbard highlights some of the collaborative work he and his team did early in the COVID-19 Pandemic—this work resulted in 1 FDA-cleared mask, 2 patents, 2 licenses and a startup company.
