Advancing the health of women through research…

The Center for Women’s Health Research (CWHR) at UNC is dedicated to learning more about diseases, disorders, and conditions that affect women only, women predominantly, and women differently than men. We are a lean organization within the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology adept at leveraging existing resources to bring research dollars to the University.

The mission of CWHR at UNC is to improve the health of women through research by focusing on diseases, disorders, and conditions that affect women only, women predominately, and/or women differently than men.

The Center engages in multiple activities to carry out this mission including:

  • Supporting individual investigators in designing studies and writing and submitting proposals
  • Administering awarded grants
  • Helping investigators find and develop the resources they need to conduct their research
  • Conducting research with Center faculty members
