If you are seeking opportunities to collaborate with North Carolina communities to address longstanding challenges and find community-driven solutions, then this is the session for you. North Carolina is home to people who continue to suffer the ravages of COVID-19 and to communities struggling with deep and complex issues exacerbated by the pandemic. Carolina Across 100, a 5-year, pan-University effort, charged by UNC’s Chancellor Kevin Guskiewicz, will partner with communities in every one of North Carolina’s 100 counties and bring the University’s resources to bear in aiding recovery and enhancing resilience. The Carolina Across 100 Initiative embodies the University’s commitment to the people of its state and will create cross-sector collaboratives that bring people together across perspectives, geographies, and ideologies, in order to collaborate in ways that make a real difference. Meaningful engagement is at the heart of this work and those efforts have started right here with UNC students, faculty, and staff leading the way. This session will include a sneak peek of results from our community listening survey and insights from students about their role in launching this initiative, conducting interviews, and helping analyze data. This interactive presentation will also include an opportunity to contribute to a data visualization project that will be featured on the Carolina Across 100 website.
