Event Type

Our eating patterns are shaped by more than willpower. Food environments, stress, busy schedules, emotions, hunger and fullness cues, and even the body’s internal signals all influence how, when and why we eat.

Join us in October for Appetite for Life, a free hybrid event offered in-person and virtually at noon, featuring Ramine Alexander, PhD, Research Project Manager in the Goode Lab at the UNC Nutrition Research Institute. Dr. Alexander will explore the behavioral and physiological pathways that connect eating patterns, hunger and satiety, emotional eating and disordered eating behaviors. She will also share how appetite awareness—learning to recognize and respond to the body’s natural hunger and fullness cues—may help support healthier eating behaviors, weight maintenance and long-term well-being.

This talk will offer an accessible look at the science behind eating behavior and provide practical insights for anyone interested in understanding the complex relationship between food, the body and everyday life.

This is a hybrid event. This event takes place off-campus.
