OFF THE MAP: Documenting Research at the Edge of the Earth
When Marley Parker graduated from the UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media in 2010, she had no idea her career would involve documenting scientific endeavors in some of the most remote places on the planet.
After spending five years honing her science communication skills at UNC Research, Marley started her own freelance business in 2018. These days, she specializes in producing compelling stories about research expedition teams – typically in the middle of the ocean.
Learn how Marley got her start at UNC, and then forged a unique career path that has taken her to the South Pacific, the Antarctic Peninsula, the North Atlantic, and many places in between.
