As AI tools rapidly evolve, so do their potential applications in the research process. Join Beth Moreton and Luke Barron from the Health Sciences Library as they provide an overview of ethical considerations and practical caveats when using AI in academic research. We’ll share findings from the Health Sciences Library’s recent evaluation of generative AI tools like Elicit, Consensus, and Undermind, using a structured rubric to assess their performance. We’ll also include a look at tools for data analysis and visualization, like Julius.ai and Proquest TDM, and explore how predictive and generative AI are being applied to systematic reviews. Participants will leave with a clearer understanding of how AI can support research responsibly and ways the library can support AI experimentation.
