[Recording Available] COVID-19 Health and Human Rights Monitor Launch
The UNC Health and Human Rights Working Group is thrilled to host the formal launch of the COVID-19 Health & Human Rights Monitor this Friday, November 12th at 9AM ET.
Created by an interdisciplinary group of students, faculty, and alumni from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the Health & Human Rights Monitor is a novel, comparative database that offers an interactive and searchable website of 1000+ media reports discussing the human rights implications of national public health responses to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The launch will feature an opening keynote address from Dr. Sharifah Sekalala at the University of Warwick on human rights in the COVID-19 pandemic, followed by presentations from the project’s leadership that discuss how this new tool provides a critical foundation for future research and advocacy focused on human rights and infectious disease response.
