SUMMARY:From Data to Discovery: How RENCI Helps Researchers Put Data to Wor
 k
DESCRIPTION:Research increasingly depends on the ability to find\, connect\
, manage\, share\, and reuse complex data. Although this complexity can pr
esent significant barriers to discovery\, researchers do not have to addre
ss it alone or wait for future solutions.\n\nFrom Data to Discovery: How t
he Renaissance Computing Institute (RENCI) Helps Researchers Put Data to W
ork will introduce three RENCI-supported resources that researchers can us
e today: Proto-OKN\, the HEAL Data Reuse Team\, and iRODS. Through short p
resentations followed by a moderated panel discussion and audience Q&A\, R
ENCI experts will demonstrate how these resources support knowledge discov
ery\, secondary data analysis\, responsible data management\, collaboratio
 n\, and reproducible research.\n\n\nSpeakers include:\n	Jim Balhoff\, Assi
stant Director of Analytics and Data Science\, will introduce Proto-OKN\,
a federated network of interconnected knowledge graphs that integrates pub
lic data and enables discovery across datasets and research domains.\n\n	S
uparna Goswami\, Senior Research Scientist\, will discuss the HEAL Data Re
use Team's tools that help researchers find and reuse shared data about op
ioid use\, pain management\, and related topics.\n\n	Terrell Russell\, Dir
ector of Data Management and Executive Director of the iRODS Consortium\,
will explain how iRODS provides open-source\, policy-based capabilities th
 at help research organizations manage\, share\, document\, protect\, and p
reserve data.\n\n\nAttendees will leave with a clearer understanding of wh
at these resources make possible\, the research challenges they address\,
and how to begin using or engaging with them. The panel will be moderated
by Chris Bizon\, RENCI Interim Deputy Director.\n\nThis is a virtual event
